Annual Holiday Open House.....
Been super busy the last couple of weeks....lots going on and getting ready for our Annual Holiday Open House tomorrow and Saturday. It's going to be tons o' fun, as always! We've been diligently working on getting our step by step demos ready for you to see. There are some favorite ones that folks always seem to ask for and some new ones. I'm posting a schedule here and it's also on the website. Here's a pic of one of our *new* things we're excited to show you. It's one of our dollar patterns called Keep Your Cool Potholder. I'm definitely seeing gift-giving potential for a few folks on my list! They are addicting to make and I've had to stop myself and focus on getting the other stuff done for tomorrow!!
Of course, there's always new fabric coming. Did you see my Instagram and Facebook post about the Cotton and Steel fabric? Got lots of attention!! And I'm not sure if I told you we have a couple of bolts of Skylanders fabric too. Anyway, I need to run because today is set-up day and I still have a demo or two to put the finishing touches on. Hoping to see some of you this weekend!
See this cute face?!?
Tonya will be in the shop
Saturday, November 7th from 2:00-4:00. She and her quilts (some of which are quilted by Whatcom County's own Tracey and Nikki) are fresh back
from Quilt Market. She'll be there to chat and sign books, so bring
yours in, or pick one up then. Hope you can make it!!
Stringing you along.....
This is a sample of *string* blocks. Sharon's started teaching a 6 month series on *The Process Of....* on the first Saturday of the month when she delves into a new technique each session. This Saturday, it will be different approaches to the process of making string blocks! There happens to be a couple of spots open this month, so if you would like to sit in and learn some great tips and techniques from our very own tips and techniques guru, let us know. The class meets from 10:30-12:30 this Saturday (November 7th) and the cost is just $15. Plus, I'll bet you have the scraps just sitting around all ready to go for this ~ I know I do!
It's been a fun week so far. Monday, we took a deep breath and started putting things back together after our sale last week. And....we blew through our goal of 600 pounds by taking 658 pounds of food to our local food bank! Thanks so much for your generosity.
And we made some room just in time....we've gotten our re-order of Seahawks flannel, plus Seattle Sounder fleece and cotton prints! Today, we had our monthly Tea Party and what a fun time that was. Then, on Saturday after Sharon's class, Tonya Alexander will be in the house with the quilts from her book *Stash Lab* fresh back from Quilt Market in Houston. She'll be available to sign books and chat about the projects from the book. We're also putting our nose to the grindstone in the next couple of weeks to bring you some new, fun gift ideas at our Holiday Open House Friday and Saturday November 20-21. Okay, I need to finish one more thing before it's bedtime....then it's night all!!
