Along came a spider.....

Have you noticed just that little hint of Fall in the evening air?  And the difference in the light.....sigh.....summer is waning, isn't it?  And what a glorious summer we've had in the weather department!  I know, it did get a little too hot a few times, but it was nice to have all of that sunshine too.  Anyway, since tomorrow is September and I have been feeling the Fall-thing, I figured it was time to change things out by the counter yesterday.  Alicia and I started with a plan, and of course then we got REALLY busy with customers.  But they were good-natured about our mess, and even gave us some input as to whether I was getting things straight while dangling off the ladder =)  This really isn't a very good picture, but I wanted you to see the banner.  (Should have taken a picture before I managed to hang it over the fabrics!)  We've all had a hand in this one.  If you look closely, you might be able to see the spider webs we stitched in and the spiders dangling off them with cute googly eyes.  These are a panel from Riley Blake and we just added some *embellishments* for more fun.  And then, we put Mr. Chillingsworth (skeleton) on the quilt rack and put a few more Fall ideas, plus the Halloween fabric on the half rounder.  Still needs a little tweaking, but thanks to Alicia, we got most of it done!

Do you have plans for the long weekend here in the States or Canada?  Me?  Well, it falls on the end of/begging of the month thing, so I'm keeping busy with payroll, newsletter, calendar, update, bills.....but I'm making some headway, so maybe the retired guy and I can go for a bike ride tomorrow?  Would love to have some corn on the cob to go with our dinner, so maybe we can ride to local fruit and veggie stand?  Yum!!  And I'm just finishing sewing the binding down on that fun redwork snowman quilt I showed you a month or so ago.  Nikki from the Country Quilter did a fabulous job of quilting it for us....you'll have to be sure and take a look when you're in.  And I'm working on a cute little hanging from the Quiltmania Childrens Special edition.  That's where I think I'll head now ~ to my chair and handstitching!  Hope you are enjoying the weekend too!
